Let this be my confession: I’m a Planeteer.
July 12, 2007Numbers (associated with letters and/or printed on bills) don't fascinate me unless it's related to my salary. So imagine my reaction when I heard about how Tracking Carbon Footprints can save the earth.
Whaddafrigginduck, CO2 should now be calculated too!
Can you imagine your shopping lines would go:
Girlfriend 1: Abenson's giving me 10% discount on the beanbag I wanted. That saves me almost a hundred peso!
Girlfriend 2: That's great. I found this new electric dental floss only emits .6kg CO2. I would only need to plant 3 acacia trees to offset it! Cool huh?!
I think it all started with the film INCONVENIENT TRUTH; the idea of saving the world one drop of Carbon Dioxide at a time has mesmerized all parts of the world in different degrees (of craziness/sacrifunds). But I'm not mocking the idea.
As CarbonFootprint.com says:
Did you know… Electricity is one of the biggest producers of carbon emissions, so every time you make a coffee or turn the television on you are adding to global warming.
